V.E.X. LIST - VOCABULARY EXERCISE REFERENCE
1. - Life cycle - The time required to progress from zygote (fertilized phase) to actual seed production.
2. - Viable - The state of being usable, practical, or healthy.
3. - Pollination - Transfer of pollen grains from one flower to another.
4. - Fruit - Any seed-bearing structure.
5. - Seed - A covered, protected fruit capable of germination
6. - Germination - To sprout, or begin, or cause to grow.
7. - Angiosperm - True flowering plants.
8. - Gymnosperm - Bear naked seeds without flowers. Usually cones-pines.
9. - Cotyledon - A leaf of a plant embryo or seed.
10. - Population - A set or group of specific individuals within a specified habitat.
11. - Flowers - A plant's reproductive organs (including stamens, pistils, ovaries, etc.)
12. - Habitat - An environment where a population normally occurs.
13. - Census - A survey or measure of a population.
14. - Data- Gathered information used as the basis for a decision.
15. - Mast - The nuts of forest trees available for food or reproduction.
