ASSEMBLY

1. Cut items 1,2,3 & 4 as shown in Bill of Material Table.

2. Attach the front (item 5) and back (item 6) to the roof cap (item 1) and bottom (item 4).

3. When attaching the front and back to the roof cap and bottom, set them in 1/2" from the edge and centered from side to side. Use 2 brads for each end, top and bottom.

4. When attaching the sides (item 3) to the front (item 5) and back (item 6) place each side down on the bottom and use brads on both sides and at each end. If you desire for one side to be removed for cleaning use small screws on that side (pre drill the holes to avoid splitting the wood).  The length of the sides should be flush with the front (item 5) and back (item 6) outer sides. (See Figure 1 for placement of the sides.)

5. Paint what has been assembled. I prefer to paint the bird house in two colors. I use colors you normally find in nature, green and brown. For this step I use brown. Since I use two colors I find that painting at this time will save masking and extra handling.

6. Now paint the roof on top and underneath where it will show after assembly.

7. Assemble the roof.

8. Attach eye screws to the roof cap at each end. Make sure screws go through the roof cap and into the back and front pieces. If not the roof cap may come off as the bird house weathers over time.

9. Hang the bird house with the opening away from the west (West is the direction most of our weather comes from.)

10. Once that is done hang out a vacancy sign.
