Maryland has 120 saw mills and 150 loggers.

Maryland's forest products industry employs 17,000 people, and contributes $400 million a year to economy.

The average 1,800 square foot house uses 10,000 board feet of lumber, (approximately 20 cords).

A 20-inch diameter tree with two 16-foot logs will yield about 275 board feet of lumber.

129 acres of forest land can absorb 26 million gallons of sewage effluent a day without harm to the trees, sod or water.
