General Description

The Wild Acres Program is a backyard habitat certification program that is open to anyone who owns or manages property that is or could be enhanced for wildlife habitat, from window boxes to multi-acre farms, townhomes to schoolyards. The intent of the program is to provide personal attention mainly to urban and suburban gardeners who enjoy wildlife in their backyards.

Funding and Assistance Availability

Applicants receive certificates and are put on a mailing list for "Habichat" newsletter, which is published about twice a year. For a $10 donation, applicants can receive an outdoor garden sign that identifies the property as part of the program.
